ENDA Forum and Town Hall with Senator Merkley

For LGBT Americans, "equal opportunity" means little without strong federal protections against workplace discrimination. Right now in 29 states, there is no state law protecting a lesbian, gay or bisexual person from being fired just because of who they are – and the same is true in 34 states for transgender people. Here in Oregon, we have very strong protections, partly due to strong leaders in our state legislature. Two of those leaders, Brad Avakian and Jeff Merkley, will join us to discuss the history of the law in Oregon and the path forward to get the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed in Congress. Senator Merkley is the chief sponsor of ENDA in the Senate and he has long been a champion of equal opportunity for ALL Americans. Join us as we welcome Senator Merkley and Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian for a Forum and Town Hall to talk about workplace protections for everyone.
