Morning Ritual is a collaboration between Portland-based composer Ben Darwish and twin singers, Shook Twins. The band also features William Seiji Marsh on guitar and Russ Kleiner on drums. Their first album, "The Clear Blue Pearl", was self-released in May and has gained considerable attention for it's unique sound and overall concept. Willamette Week describes the album as "a record generous with sacred moments" and that they sound "unlike anything that has come before them." They're live performance of "So Cold" was featured as a "Favorite Session" on NPR Music and BlackBook Magazine debuted their music video for "The Drought". The influences of the album are hard to define but one can hear pieces of rock, folk, jazz, R&B, and even electronic music.
A treat on record, the band is best experienced live. Instead of a series of single songs, their live performance is best described as an experience which will transcend your expectation of a live concert.
