Hi Everyone!
John and I would love to invite all of our friends over to our new place in Goose Hollow for a fun and relaxed Sunday evening. Since we are over due for a house warming, we thought we would also have a house show to celebrate!
Our amazing friends Kristin, Alex, and Ginger will be playing throughout the night, and these ladies are not just amazing musicians, but amazing people as well. You can check out their info below, but seriously, seeing them in person is something that you don't want to miss!
John and I will be making food (of course), along with a small bar with beer/wine for all to enjoy, but please feel free to bring anything that you would like to enjoy for yourself. If you are feeling kind and generous, a donation for the musicians would be much appreciated by John and I. Being musicians ourselves, we know how much time, effort, and GAS it takes to make these things happen, especially for those traveling from other cities. Please help out if you can :)
Our address is listed below, but it's the green house on the corner of SW 20th and Madison. If you go up the front stairs, you'll see our front door (which will be unlocked), and you can just open it up and help yourself up the stairs. I'll make signs so that it's super easy.
Due to work schedules and neighbors, this will only go until about 11pm, but there is a wonderful neighborhood bar a couple of blocks away that we are all welcome to enjoy if everyone's energies are up for it!
Kristin Allen-Zito: http://www.kristinallenzitomusic.com/
Kristin Allen-Zito’s second solo release "The Atlas" on Clickpop Records heralds her return from life as the lead singer of the electro-punk band “The Trucks” to her folk music roots. The album draws on her deep history of folk songwriting, solo performance, and a family deeply ensconced in the folk music scene. While her first solo album moved away from traditional folk towards indie rock and pop music, her new record is a return to the rhythms and feel of her roots. However, it is as clear as ever that Kristin knows how to blend traditional folk, catchy pop, and captivating story telling to create a unique and compelling record.
Cumulus:
Portland Mercury wrote: "Cumulus is the type of band whose music saves lives. Not literally, of course—although who knows, stranger things have happened—but the Seattle group's sincere guitar-ringing pop is so lovely and warm that it feels just as vital as blood and breath."
Alex’s songs are a study in juxtapositions: delicate but powerful, specific but universal, naïve but knowing, and above all personal despite being steeped in the classic pop themes—love, loss, youth, wonder, disappointment, joy.
