SURVIVE TO THRIVE: JOBS, HOUSING, HEALTHCARE NOW!
At a time when the world is most interested in where we pee, transgender, intersex, two spirit, and nonbinary people will continue to demand the resources that we need to survive and thrive! We dedicate the 2016 Portland Trans Pride March to connecting our community with organizations and individuals working for living-wage jobs, safe shelter, fair housing, and affirming and affordable trans healthcare. The world is watching. Let’s show them a community that is organizing for what we need and demanding the respect that we deserve!
WE RALLY at 2 p.m. in the North Park Blocks and march at 3:30 to Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Speakers and route details to be announced soon.
ACCESSIBILITY: The rally will be ASL interpreted, and we have mobility vehicles for people who need them, including children and parents.
MARCH WITH FRIENDS: We're thrilled to be joined this year by the Portland Two Spirit Society, who will lead this year’s march, and by contingents from PFLAG Portland Black Chapter, SMYRC, Q Center, and Dykes on Bikes! Is your group planning a contingent? Let us know in the comments below.
VOLUNTEER: Are you a worker bee who loves to have a job? We're looking for volunteers to help with set up/tear down, stage managing, security, accessibility, our info/sign-making station and more! Come get a quick orientation at the sign-making party (see below) or email us at: greaterportlandtransunity@gmail.com.
MAKE SIGNS WITH US! We're teaming up with Q Center for a Pride Sign Making Party and Craftstravaganza on **June 14, 3-7pm!** Come snack and craft with us at 4115 N Mississippi Avenue.
