Starky's Restaurant

I travelled to Portland for a week and made it to Starkey's on saturday night. It's a long running establishment with many regulars. It has full menu - my mushroom appetizer and entree were both good, friendly staff and patrons. The video bar isn't a separate area - it's just a tv above the bar portion of the restaurant, which is fine. The patio outside is nice. It's a crowd older than the night club SW Portland - mostly 40's and up. One warning - the stall in the bathroom has no door. I've seen this in clubs, but at a restaurant? yikes. Oh, one important tip: When I left the restaurant, I walked about 10 blocks west (towards downtown) and I really enjoyed the evening feel of the SE part of town - coffee shops in old buildings with exposed brick walls, small eateries with streetside tables, people eating outdoors and sharing wine in their yards of their old victorian homes. I was grateful to witness this SE Portland charm.

I think Starky's Bar/Restaurant with 2 outdoor patios, Flat screen TV's showing Concerts and Music Videos Daily, The friendly Staff and Owners, not to mention the customers who support the community, should be on the top of your list of places to go. The Food is wonderful, I recommend "The Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese" & They also have $5 burger Basket with fries nights on Mondays and Tuesdays, (Talk about a Cheap BIG piece of Meat!). 5 Stars! Plus Mention my name for a good seat, Glenn with 2 n's recommends Starky's! Did I mention the cute & Friendly Bartenders & Staff!! Greg & Joe are the owners and they are wonderful to the Gay Community & support Every Fabulous Event. Bravo!
