Silverado

I recently traveled to Portland for a week, and ended up visiting all the gay venues in town. Silverado was busy every night of the week. There was a mix of guys - younger, older, and the kitchen served a decent menu - the nachos were huge... The only club with more people would perhaps be C.C. Slaughters, which is Portland’s dance club complex. At Silverado’s there are strippers about every night and they actually go totally nude, which surprised me since they don’t do that even in L.A. I was texting status reports to my friends back home: “… 2 cut, 1 uncut. How big? Well, it’s flopping around right now, but probably a 9”. They seemed to have nearly the same strippers each night, though. After a week I recognized familiar… um… “faces” onstage. There’s a lounge on the other side of the club – quieter, pool table, but large bar area. So unless you want to dance, Silverado’s is the place to go to be with the biggest crowd.

Not sure if this would be called a cruise bar or not. The non-dancer side of the bar might be better if you're looking for action. The dancer side is nicely laid out with a large stage and a loft area. The dancers for the most part are goo...some even amazing! One guy (gorgeous) was able to walk on his hands across the stage with a full hard-on. Gotta admire talent like that...lol! Some of the guys do private gigs off-site. Sure, they all try to kiss up for dollars, but that is what they're there for, after all. Drinks weren't cheap but of good quality. Too many girls there for my taste...sort of nulls the gay sexual tension. Since they're aren't any bars like this left on the West Coast, though, it's a lot of fun to see some pretty cock flopping in your face....

A place to be if you are already drunk, otherwise you might think its slightly sleazy. That being said, it is what it is! Good drinks with adult entertainment of the full frontal kind. Mixed quality of "entertainers" from muscle heads to drugged out old queens! Not the type of place to start your night out but the type of place to end up if you are looking for something to gawk at....

I was told THIS was the bar to go to when visiting PDX. Well, not very entertaining. The strip bar is separated from the casual bar. Strippers for the most part were nice looking but nothing I had not seen before. We were the during a pretty warm period and the stripper side of the bar was unbearably hot and stagnant. Other side of bar was a bit friendlier but was pretty empty and this was a Friday night. Maybe just bad timing for me.
